Have you ever downloaded countless websites and mobile apps, hoping they’d help you with your investments, only to realize that most of them weren’t useful?
Let me share with you the four essential apps that actually helps you to start your first step investing in Bursa Malaysia.
1. KLSE Screener
This is the most comprehensive website/app for Malaysian stocks. With it, you can set price alerts, check market indices, view the day’s top trades, and access stock data with simple technical charts. It’s an all-in-one tool for keeping track of the local stock market.
One of its features I used the most is its stock screener, which allows users to filter stocks based on a variety of criteria such as price-to-earnings ratio (P/E), dividend yield, market capitalization, and more.

2. TradingView
You’ve probably heard of TradingView. It’s the most robust and user-friendly platform for technical analysis, and best of all, it’s free—at least for the basic functions, which are more than enough for amateurs or retail investors.
TradingView offers both web and app support with clean, functional charts and real-time data for most global markets. For Malaysian stocks, a subscription is required to access real-time charts, but a 15-minute delay is perfectly manageable for most retail investors unless you’re trading professionally.
And don’t forget, you can always access real-time data through your broker’s platform!

3. MalaysiaStock.Biz
MalaysiaStock.Biz is another highly useful website for local investors. It provides detailed information on dividends, corporate actions, and financial data of Malaysian listed companies.
Personally, I love MalaysiaStock.Biz because of its Market Sentiment Tool. This feature is invaluable for gauging overall market sentiment and understanding how other investors feel about the market.
Additionally, MalaysiaStock.Biz offers stock price charts, company news, and forums for further insight into company performance.

4. SimplyWall.St
SimplyWall.St is another fantastic tool that every investor should consider. It provides visually engaging, data-driven insights to help you analyze stocks. What sets SimplyWall.St apart is its snowflake analysis—a unique feature that visually breaks down a company’s valuation, financial health, and dividend potential in an easy-to-understand graphic.
If you’re a visual learner or prefer a quick summary of stock fundamentals, this app is perfect for you. The tool covers a wide range of markets, including Malaysia, and is ideal for both beginner and seasoned investors who want to make well-informed decisions based on a stock’s financials.

5. Bursa Anywhere
This is not compusory but good to have if you’re having a direct CDS account.
It is basically the mobile version of Bursa Malaysia’s official website. You can access official information, a list of listed companies, index performance, company annual and quarterly reports, and more.
Most importantly, it allows you to manage your CDS (Central Depository System) account with ease.

Honorable Mentions
There are plenty of other useful apps out there, such as I3Investor. However, their functionalities are quite similar. Based on the Malaysian stock market environment, these apps are more than enough for most investors.
I hope this post helps simplify your investment journey! If you have any questions, feel free to comment or send me a message.
